Here are two, small 4x4 inch oil on linen board skyscapes. I think they are pretty romantic, but maybe that's just me. Hope you enjoy.

'Back to back skies' Day 3 #skymarch

I opened the back door to empty the bins and saw this bad boy rising over Canon Hill, the leeward side of which our back to back terraced houses are built on. It's a real Northern English scene from front and back. The Hovis commercial springs to mind. Anyhow, here is day three ... (purchase link)

The artist, Anthony Greentree, kindly organises a monthly theme and we all submit work online for that month, on a daily basis. I've met and discovered a lot of new people and each day brings new work. Pretty awesome. This is day one, heavy cloud over Willow Lane in Lancaster, UK. Its fast drying oil on board. 6x6. The North West Rocks

I am blessed in that I live in a very beautiful part of England. Well I think so. Here in the North West, we have Morecambe Bay, The Lake District, the Trough of Bowland, Silverdale AONB and, er, The Fylde Coast. Each place has its own character and endlessly inspires me. Even Blackpool seafront is gorgeous if seen in the right light.
This week however my girlfriend and I went out to Sunderland Point, on the Lune Estury. It's a splendid place, accessible by a causeway at low tide. The air is chill and the skys are BIG. I started a few paintings from photos I took. I intend to take my easel out and paint in situ soon, I mean, who's afraid of the cold, wind and rain when there's paintings to be done?

Oh yes, and there's a jar of plums for good measure...
